I am a former resident of Bloomfield having graduated from BHS in 1952. I worked on the stage crew for some of the productions of Talent Time. My sister, Joan Wilhelm, was the beneficiary of the show in 1955. I see that the beneficiary of past shows lists John Wilhelm as the 1955 beneficiary. This an error. It should be Joan Wilhelm not John Wilhelm

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we are sorry for getting your sister’s name wrong and it has been corrected.

Pretty nice post. I just stumbled upon your weblog and wanted
to say that I have really enjoyed browsing your blog posts.
After all I will be subscribing to your feed and I hope you write again very soon!

Charlie Seller was a few years before me in the Christ Church choir on Bloomfield Ave., and I remember vividly our horror on hearing of his accident at the train station. However, Charlie never let it get him down, rebounding emotionally quickly and lifting other people’s spirits with his upbeat nature. I can still see him hurtling down the sidewalk, alternating his 2 arm crutches (new idea at the time) and his one leg. He could outrun most of us. A lovely person, and the benefit that the Bloomfield kids put on for him as he recuperated was inspirational. I’m very happy to see that the tradition has continued to this day.
I wish that I knew how the rest of his life went since graduating from BHS.
